1st day of school and Ethan's big day

Is Summer really over?  It doesn't feel like it outside, it's still 105 degrees but since school started I guess summer is officially over.  The kids were so excited.  Miah's going to 3rd grade and got a sassy new haircut to start off the school year.

Here are the girls in their new outfits all ready to go!

Good-Bye Ethan and Abbey, both going to middle school this year!  How am I old enough to have 2 kids in middle school???

They look a little sleepy in this picture, it'll take some time to get used to getting up early again!  I think it'll be a good year though, Abbey's playing the Viola and is in choir and Ethan is still playing bassoon and is starting football.  Fun Stuff!

Ethan's birthday was also this week and he turned 12!
His big gift was this little device, he likes it just a little bit:).

Grandma and Grandpa came into town for Ethan's birthday because in our church when you turn 12 you are ordained to be a deacon and receive the Aaronic Priesthood.

Here are some of Ethan's friends who joined him for the big event.  Future missionaries!

Dallas ordained Ethan in our home on the night of his birthday so Ethan could go with the Youth to the Temple the next day.

In the Temple youth age 12-18 can do  Baptisms for the Dead (click on link for more info).

Handsome boy and Beautiful Temple!

It was such a good day.  I am so proud of Ethan for being worthy to be in the temple.  I feel so blessed to be his mom.

I love looking at pictures of your family! It really is sad that you're getting so old. :) Happy Birthday to Ethan!
