more Birthday

Ethan got some really great presents, I think he's ready to go back to the beach to try out that new boogie board.
Here is Ethan blowing out his canldles. Later that night he yanked out yet another tooth in his mouth, too much sugary frosting probably coroded away the gums so it could come loose :). What a fun day!

Twinkling Stars

Abbey has been in a singing and dancing group this summer called the Twinkling Stars and this weekend was their big performance. Her new hair cut added to the excitement of the night and she was definately a star on stage. She did great and we just loved watching her. Way to go Abbey!

Weekend in Utah

So I got the chance to head back to Utah this past weekend. It was a great time to catch up with the Bullock family. Dylan even flew in. I got a chance to see Megan and Todd's new house in Cache Valley and Laura and Lynn's new house in Ephraim. I truly loved the pace of both communities. Dylan and I rented mountain bikes and hit the mountains for some great riding. All in all it was a good break. Many blessing on Sheryl's head for letting me get away for a few days. Though I had a great time I missed Sheryl and the kids. Next trip out will be the whole family.

Princess!

All dressed up for church. This dress hasn't been worn since Sarah and Blaine's wedding so I pulled it out today for Ellie and oh my, she looked cute. Of course I could only get one smile captured, but the other ones are her personality to a "T". If you double click on the picture you can see up close how cute her teeth are.

Ellie laughing

This is Ellie at her best, squirming and giggling. It was all Ethan could do to hold on to her! If you look closely you can see the 2 teeth that Ellie just got a few weeks ago.

San Antonio!

Dallas had a Convention for work down in San Antonio this last week so we went down and spent a night in his hotel and day seeing the sights. Wow, what an awesome city! It is definately one of my favorite cities to visit now. This Riverwalk was so beautiful and fun, so visitor friendly with tons of restaraunts and entertainment. No we didn't eat at Waxy's Irish Pub, it just happened to get in our picture :)

It was a bit of a challenge managing four kids in this huge city without Dallas (he was in meetings all day), Ellie was so tired and woudn't take a nap and yes it was just a tiny bit hot, but we had fun.

In the Hotel

All clean and ready for bed

They are just so cute when they are asleep. It was a tight squeeze to all fit in this bed, Miah only fell out once, Ouch!

Ethan and Abbey floating down the San Antonio River on our boat tour. I know it looks like an engagement pose but it was actually a pretty spontaneous shot. What cuties

more on the boat

Here it is, the famous Alamo. We toured the inside but weren't able to take pictures in there. It was neat to re-learn this part of history and remember all those who died there. Abbey said this was her favorite part of our trip.

The Beach!

Thank heavens for the pack-n-play! If it wasn't for this Ellie would have eaten a lot of sand today!

We spent the day at Mustang Island right across from Corpus Christi, Tx this last Saturday and had such a fun time! The water is so warm in the Gulf of Mexico!

Miah looking for seashells. The sand or should I say mud, was so soft and fun to play in.

Their first time seeing the ocean was a hit! They didn't ever want to leave. It was about a 4 hour drive for us so we'll definately be back.

The mother of all climbing trees

We found this really great park by our house that has such an awesome tree for climbing on, the kids love it. There were not trees like this in Colorado Springs!!

Splash Park

We have a really fun splash park near our house that we go to every Wednesday for play-group. Ellie likes the little fountains and I thought this was too cute to not share.

Miss Abbey

I had gotten out the pioneer outfit because I'm doing a Pioneer Sharing Time in Primary on Sunday and Abbey immediately snatched up the clothes and spent half the day in them. She was so cute pretending to be "Lucy" a pioneer girl riding in a covered wagon. "There's room for you mama", she says

This one's for you Julie

Hey we finally got a pet! Her name is Charlette and she has made her home in our front window! So far she hasn't written us any messages but she's actually kind of pretty. I know, it's a spider and the first day she showed up I was really freaked out. Then I learned that she's a garden spider and that she can't hurt me :). Thekids and I get a daily science lesson watching her catch her food and suck it's blood!! And it's so cool watching her re-spin her web occasionally, such talented creatures.

Yes she's huge, but I don't have the heart make her move right now. In fact if we did I think I might miss her. Don't worry, she's on the outside of the glass

I've been tagged

So I've been tagged by Julie, but I'm afraid my life is not nearly as interesting as hers, anyway here's what you do. List 7 things about yourself, favorites, dislikes etc. whatever you want really. Then if you get tagged at the bottom then it's your turn, hey if I can find the time to do it than you can too :) It's fun to learn new things about each other right?

1. My favorite thing to do lately is play with my kids in the pool. It's so much fun to throw them up in the air with huge smiles on their faces and have them swim back to you begging for more. Ok so I can't throw Ethan, but the girls at least. Even Ellie loves the lift up in the air (I don't let go of course), her smile is huge and then she gives me the biggest wettest kiss on the chin and sometimes blows a zerbert while she's at it!!

2. The most influencial book I've read recently has got to be 7 Habits of Highly Effective Families by Stephen Covey. I'm actually only on habit 6 right now but so far this book has been so amazing for me in helping me wrap my mind around this parenting business. It's full of such freeing information that has made me say "ah-ha" more than a few times.

3. My favorite web-site of the week is www.pandora.com, it's an on-line radio that you can listen to any type of music that you select any time for free. You can even request a specific artist and it will play other artists similar to them (same genre). Very cool, check it out.

4. Things I don't like: waking up early, whinning, snakes in my back yard (yes there has been one, a big one), long stop lights, being late, the sound of cracking knuckles.

5. Favorite ice cream: COOKIES AND CREAM!!!! yum, Favorite pizza: Cheese, cheese and more cheese please, Favorite drink: virgin strawberry daquari, Favorite tv show: LOST.....did Charlie really have to die? :), Favorite hymn: How Great thou Art, Favorite vacation: Neuvo Vallarta, Mexioco

6. Most embarassing moment: it's still gotta be falling down the stairs after recieving my Certification award as a Missionary, in the chapel in front of 3 zones of missionaries. The Pres. said, "Boy, we really brought her to her knees!". Good one.

7. Most daring thing I've ever done: Jumping off a 70 foot cliff into Lake Powell. I still get nervous thinking about how I was able to convince myself to go first (Sarah, Laura and Nick were soon to follow). I mostly did it to say that I'd done it, it actually really hurt and I'd never do it again, he he. What an adrenaline junkie I used to be, now I just get my kicks checking other people's blogs all day, ha ha. Hey if you don't have a blog you should really get one, they're so fun!!

I'm tagging: Sally Wright, Angie Johnson, Megan Thueson, and whoever else wants to! Don't forget to post the rules for the next person and keep it going!

Awesome Ride!

Dallas took Ethan to Walnut Creek to try out his new Mountain Bike. As you can see, Ethan did great. He even rode through his first river!

Baker Family Reunion

We spent the last week of June in Utah and had such a good time with everyone at the Family Reunion. Thanks for the memories!
