We heard about this really awesome museum up in Waco called the Mayborn museum that we just had to try out. Boy were we glad we did! We went with our good friends the Heatons and had such a fun time. This museum was better than any children's museum that I've ever been to and it wasn't a children's museum! It is a Baylor University Science museum but it was so interactive for the kids, we all loved it.
First stop was the Lego exhibit. It cost a little extra to see this part but it was WORTH it! Kid heaven is what I like to call it. These pictures aren't great because they're from my phone. I was so bummed that I forgot to bring my nice camera!

This dragon, all made of
Legos was SCARY!

Cute Ellie on the Lego throne.

They had stations where you could built your own castles with big
Legos, tiny
Legos and even on-line
Legos. They had pretend jousting, catapulting, and some really cool displays of real castle replicas. I definitely liked Ellie's the best though

Besides the
Lego room, there were so many fun rooms to explore. Some of the favorites were, the Sound and Sight rooms, the HUGE Whale scull, Mammoth tusks and mammoth excavation site, the Cave room, the Water and Bubble room, and that wasn't even half of it! By the way,
at the Mammoth Exhibit, you can walk on a see-through floor to look down on casts of the Columbian mammoth bones displayed exactly as they were found at the Waco Mammoth Site, just 5 miles from the Baylor Campus. I didn't get a good picture but just take my word for it that it was awesome!
Here's
Miah and Shayla driving the wagon in the Pioneer room.

Abbey washing the clothes..

This is Ellie the police woman riding the school bus with Ethan and Abbey. This place also wasn't crowded so in rooms like this we could spend as long as we wanted and were able to take our time to enjoy everything.

This Weather room was so cool. Here's Abbey feeling the Tornado mist.

And here's Ethan telling us the weather forecast. Who doesn't love seeing themselves on TV?!

And of course the nostalgic typewriters. I realized that my kids don't remember ever seeing typewriters like this and that made me feel kind of old. Not that I really ever used this kind except when visiting my Grandma's house, but even the old school kind that my sisters used in college were there on display. I found myself saying, "this is what we used when dinosaurs were on the earth before computers were invented." Ha Ha!

I love places like this that make science fun. Even though it's an hour drive we would totally go back, so anyone who wants to join me just give me a call!
